The Kedartal Trek is a challenging and scenic trekking route that leads to the pristine Kedartal Lake, situated in the Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. The trek is known for its breathtaking landscapes, high-altitude terrain, and the close proximity to several majestic peaks such as Thalay Sagar, Bhrigupanth, Manda Parvat, Jogin, and Gangotri. Beginning from the village of Gangotri, a prominent pilgrimage site, the trek is an isolated and secluded one. Elevated at approximately 16,116 ft. Kedartal is one of the high-altitude lakes in the Garhwal Himalayas. Considered to be a challenging trek, the Kedartal Trek is more fit for experienced trekkers due to the high-altitude, steep ascents, and challenging parts. The trail to the top is also extremely remote with almost no human habitation at this altitude and even fewer trekkers. A less crowded trek with solitude and quiet, the Kedartal Trek can be a peaceful one for those looking for an escape to the hills. Taking a span of 7 days to cover over 37 km on foot, the Kedartal Trek brings with itself some steep ascents, challenging descents, and huge boulders which require not only physical but mental strength as well. But all is well, when you reach the top and experience the beauty of the Kedartal with its surrounding of the mighty Himalayas.
