A lesser-known trek in the Garhwal Himalayas, the Gulabi Kantha Trek leads to the vast and lush meadow of Gulabi Kanth, located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
At a height of more than 12,000 ft. the trek passes through trails covered in wildflowers, green meadows, dense forests of oak trees and deodar trees, and an abundance of flora and fauna of the region. Lying on the way to the freshwater lakes of Dodital, the trek to Gulabi Kantha provides a complete view of the peaks of some of the most stunning Himalayan Mountain ranges such as Bandarpoonch, Kalindi sirkala, Shivalik, and Chaukhamba. Located close to the pilgrimage site of Yamunotri, the Gulabi Kantha trek begins from Hanuman Chatti, the base camp for the trek also known for the confluence of the rivers of Yamuna and Hanuman Ganga. Covering a distance of 25 to 28 km, the Gulabi Kantha Trek can be completed in a span of 5 days.
