On the second day, there will be a road trip from Shillong to Cherrapunjee. You will visit Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Khmer Falls etc. on this day. The next day, i.e, the third day, you will be heading to Cherrapunjee. You will have a breakfast stop at Mawlynnong, which is Asia’s cleanest village. Climbing the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village to get a bird’s eye view of the Village is another amazing thing to do here. Then you will trek to the living root bridges, have a boat ride on the Umngot River and make unforgettable memories. Day 01: Guwahati Airport – Shillong (120 kms / 3 hrs drive)
- Arrive Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong.
- En route witness the Umiam Lake or Barapani – the biggest artificial lake in Meghalaya in midst of sylvan hills adorned by Khasi pines & peerless beauty.
- If time permits visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake.
- Evening free at leisure to explore the region on your own.
- You may take a walk to the famous Police Bazaar for shopping.
- Overnight in Shillong.
Day 02: Shillong – Cherrapunji (60 kms/2 hrs)
- After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji.
- En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak – to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city.
- At Cherrapunji visit – Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls.
- After lunch at Cherrapunji, visit Arawah Cave, KohRamhah and Khrem Falls.
- Overnight in Cherrapunji.
Day 03:Cherrapunji – Mwallynong – Dawki – Shillong
- After breakfast drive to Mwallynong – the cleanest village in Asia, also known as ‘God’s own Garden’.
- With over 80 households, the village gives the ambiance of walking in a well-maintained park!
- Climb the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village for a bird’s eye view of the Village, the plantations and faraway plains of Bangladesh.
- You will also be acquainted to the Khasi lifestyle, their culture and economy.
- A trek to the nearby Rewai Village is another interesting activity.
- Walk down a flight of almost 100 steps to witness nature’s wonder, living-root bridge – the bridges are tangles of massive thick roots, which the local people inter-twine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time.
- Later drive to Dawki – a village of the Jaintia community whose prime occupation of fishing.
- Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride at Umngot river – famous for its crystal-clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance, it appears as if the boat is floating in mid-air!
- Drive up to the Bangladesh border and later proceed to Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 04:Shillong – Guwahati Airport Drop (140 kms / 3 ½ hrs drive approx)
- After breakfast check out from the hotel.
- Transfer to Guwahati Airport for your journey back home.
